Rhys Davies Freight Logistics Teams up with Seda UK to Deliver Food Packaging to Top Companies Throughout the UK

Transport specialist Rhys Davies Freight Logistics has joined forces with leading food packaging manufacturer Seda UK Ltd to carry out daily deliveries to hundreds of local distribution points across the United Kingdom from its factory in Blackwood, Gwent. Seda UK is part of Italian based Seda International Packaging Group and specialises in producing recyclable packaging materials to top food outlets including McDonalds, KFC and Pizza Hut.

Seda UK appointed RDFL as its logistics partner following a period of rapid expansion in its UK business. As Leighton Szade, Seda’s Logistics Manager explained, “We’d been working with our previous logistics companies for some time and had a good working relationship, but with the rapid increase in our business some of them were not always aligned to our business expectations. We needed a company that could handle the volume and expand with us and Rhys Davies is ideally positioned to do that. They were also able to provide comprehensive monthly KPIs to help us manage our distribution budget and processes.”

With such a strong brand and a reputation in the industry for high quality the management at Seda are keen to make sure their logistics partner maintains their high levels of reliability and service. “Rhys Davies’s drivers are effectively Seda employees from the time our products leave the factory until they are delivered to the customer,” continued Leighton Szade. “We expect them to be reliable and courteous when they meet our customers, and their vehicles need to be well turned out too; RDFL understands that and this is another reason we appointed them as our partners.”

Rhys Davies Freight Logistics is a national network employing over 400 staff, operating 170 vehicles through eight operating centres throughout the UK.
