The Live Events

What was on in 2012?

The live events formed a central role at Food & Drink Expo and Farm Shop & Deli and played host to experts from across the grocery, foodservice, wholesale, manufacturing and speciality retail sectors.

We delivered the latest information on market trends and research, and hopefully addressed any issues affecting visitors' businesses.

Levi Roots drew a crowd of over 300 people for his session on his journey from Dragon slayer to Sauce Man...he even gave us a song!

The Observer's Jay Rayner talked about the history of food availability and pricing and offered a global perspective on food security; "The world is not one big breadbasket. British supermarkets need to pay more to British producers to increase our self-sufficiency. We need to be in a position to supply ourselves."

The Rt Hon Jim Paice MP walked the show floor, stopping to speak with a number of exhibitors including Cole's Traditional Foods and Kitchen Garden.

In his keynote address at Farm Shop & Deli Live he was keen to point out that while domestic demand for locally grown and produced food was fresher and better for communities, the UK should also be looking to export and open up new markets.
